This Privacy Policy explains how we at The Ferns Guesthouse use any information we collect about you.

What information we collect about you

When you make a booking with us we collect the name of the person making the booking, home address, email address and contact telephone number. We may also collect debit or credit card details to secure your booking (payment will only be taken in accordance with our cancellation policy).

When using our website, some additional data is also collected, such as the pages visited, time spent on the website, etc. This information cannot be used to identify you personally.

How we use the information we hold on you

We only use your information to facilitate your booking with us, and as required by law for guest registration purposes.

We will only use the contact details you have provided to contact you in regards your booking with us and, on occasion, follow-up correspondence for feedback.

We will only contact you by email for any other reason (e.g. special offers) if you have already given us your consent to do so.

We will not share your personal details with any outside parties, except our trusted 3rd party service providers (our online booking provider and Stripe & Sumup for card payment services).

How is your data stored

All of the personal and debit/credit card data you provide when booking online or by telephone is stored securely by our 3rd party payment system (Stripe). No debit/credit card details are held by us on site.

Any other personal data you provide when booking by telephone are stored securely by ourselves.

Payment security

Our third party booking system satisfies the security standards required by the card payment industry (PCI DSS compliant), and uses Stripe card payment service, so that your card details are safe and will only be used for what you intend.

Cookies

Like many websites, ours uses Google Analytics cookies to track data such as how many visitors are using our site, which pages were visited, time spent on site etc., but it does not collect any personally identifiable information.
